Season by season
How the year breaks down for trip planning.
- Shoulder (Apr–Jun) — Warm without extreme heat; the best all-round window.
- Peak (Jul–Aug) — Hottest and busiest, strongest for sea days and nightlife.
- Late season (Sep–Oct) — Sea stays warm while crowds ease.
- Winter (Nov–Mar) — Mild and good for culture and walking, but windier and wetter.
Best value window
Shoulder (Apr–Jun) usually gives the best balance: warm without extreme heat; the best all-round window. Shifting a trip two or three weeks either side of peak is normally the single biggest saving available.
How long to stay
Most trips to Malta work best at 4–7 days, which is enough for Valletta, Mdina, Three Cities without living on transport days.
