April, May, September, October are the strongest months in South Korea. Four distinct seasons; humid summers, cold dry winters
Season by season
How the year breaks down for trip planning.
- Spring (Apr–May) — Blossom then mild, clear weather.
- Summer (Jun–Aug) — Hot with a July monsoon.
- Autumn (Sep–Oct) — Best window: cool, dry, colourful.
- Winter (Nov–Mar) — Cold; ski resorts and quiet cities.
Best value window
Summer (Jun–Aug) usually gives the best balance: hot with a july monsoon. Shifting a trip two or three weeks either side of peak is normally the single biggest saving available.
How long to stay
Most trips to South Korea work best at 7–12 days, which is enough for Seoul, Busan, Jeju without living on transport days.
