February, March, April, May, June, July, August are the strongest months in Singapore. Equatorial and very uniform: hot and humid every month, with no true dry season and rain possible year-round

Season by season

How the year breaks down for trip planning.

  • Slightly drier (Feb–Apr) — Usually the least wet stretch of the year and the most comfortable for long walking days.
  • Northeast monsoon (Dec–early Mar) — The wettest period overall, with heavier and more frequent rain, especially in December.
  • Inter-monsoon (Apr–May, Oct–Nov) — Frequent afternoon thunderstorms — intense but usually short.
  • Southwest monsoon (Jun–Sep) — Warm with shorter showers; regional haze can occasionally affect air quality.
  • Practical note (Year-round) — Rain rarely derails a trip here — the city is built for it, with sheltered walkways and extensive indoor attractions.

Best value window

Northeast monsoon (Dec–early Mar) usually gives the best balance: the wettest period overall, with heavier and more frequent rain, especially in december. Shifting a trip two or three weeks either side of peak is normally the single biggest saving available.

How long to stay

Most trips to Singapore work best at 3–5 days, which is enough for Marina Bay, Chinatown & Tiong Bahru, Kampong Glam & Little India without living on transport days.
